The Department of Chemistry of the University of Malta is teaming up with the Malta Chamber of Scientists and MEDICHEM to host a Public Session of Workshop on Auxetics and Related Systems which this year is being organized in Malta for which you are invited to attend as follows:

Wednesday 26th Sept. 2007
Aula Magna, Old University Building, Valletta

The International Workshop on Auxetics and Related Systems are annual events (meetings in 2004 and 2005 were held in Poland, meeting in 2006 was held in Exeter UK, and meeting 2008 will be held in Bristol, UK) are the only gathering of where scientists working in the field of auxetics (materials which get fatter when stretched) and negative thermal expansion (materials which shrink when heated) meet together and present their work. The fact that the 2007 meeting is being held in Malta is an honour for Malta as it is a proof of the excellent international standing that we have in this field.

The Malta meeting will include presentations from leading international scientists and engineers coming from various countries including USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Malta, Italy, Poland, Romania, China and Brazil.
