Care & Welfare/Canine Care & Welfare Aim: The aim of these courses is to increase the knowledge on the health and welfare requirements of pet cats and dogs and to improve responsible pet ownership. Offering: Summer Period (End
of June 2006 to Mid-August 2006) Requirements: Open to interested persons over 16 years of age. Language of Instruction: English Lecturers: Dr. Mauro Buttigieg DMV, MSc Studied Veterinary Medicine at the Universita degli Studi di Perugia, Facolta di Medicina Veterinaria, Italy and graduated as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. In 1997 he was employed as Veterinary Officer at the Food and Veterinary Regulation Division of Malta in the Animal Health and Welfare Department, a post which he held till 2004. In 1997, Dr. Buttigieg also started practicing privately as a veterinary surgeon, mainly as a small animal practitioner. In 2004 he was awarded a Masters degree in Livestock Health and Production from the University of London, Royal Veterinary College, United Kingdom. As of June 2004 Dr. Buttigieg has dedicated his time towards private practice and lecturing at the University of Malta, Institute of Agriculture where he is a visiting lecturer (Animal Health and Husbandry). Minimum Number of Participants: 20 (per course) Maximum Number of Participants: 35 - 40 per class Provision: Applicants are accepted on a first come first served basis. Award: Certificate of Attendance (85 % attendance obligatory) Cost: Lm 30 (including tuition and teaching materials) per course or Lm 55 for both courses (Save Lm 5) Downloads:
