In between the first and second semesters, the students are taken on a short tour of major European human rights institutions so as to obtain first hand information about how they operate. Places normally visited are Paris (UNESCO), Strasbourg (the Council of Europe, European Court of Human Rights), The Hague (International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia) and Brussels (the European Commission and the European Parliament).
