Maltese Language Server Project

Work on both an electronic lexicon and corpus of Maltese is still on-going.

Currently, the Institute of Linguistics together with the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence of the University of Malta are running a two-year project Maltese Language Resource Server funded through the Research and Technological Development Initiative (RTDI) programme of the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST):

The aims of the project are twofold: the development of an electronic lexicon and of a corpus of written Maltese. The lexicon and the corpus are planned to feed each other, with the lexicon extracting new words from the corpus and the corpus using the information in the lexicon to analyse the texts.
