| Bio-data: Joined the Division of Library and Information Studies at the Centre for Communications Technology in January 2002. In 2003 awarded the University of Malta Chancellor's Award. Since October 2006 appointed Coordinator for courses offered by the Division: - Bachelor of Library, Information and Archive Studies, - Diploma in Library and Information Studies and; - Diploma in Archive and Records Management. Prior to this academic post she was Head of Reader Services (1999-2000) and Reference Assistant Librarian (1994-1999) at the University of Malta Library. Currently reading for a PhD at University College London. Studied for a Masters Degree in Librarianship at the University of Sheffield (1999). First degrees in: Economics and History (1992) and History (Hons) (1993). Her research interests include: the Internet and Society, Conservation and Preservation of Electronic Records, Cultural Imperialism and Hegemony on the Internet, Reference Services & Information Retrieval, the Correlation between the Theory of knowledge and Library Studies. Member of the following professional bodies: Malta Library and Information Association (MaLIA), Chartered Instituted of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) and the American Library Association (ALA). |
