Bernard Anastasi qualified in medicine at the Royal University of Malta [MD 1971] and trained in radiology in Glasgow. He is presently Consultant Radiologist at East Surrey Hospital, Surrey, UK.

Alex Dalli was born in 1958 and has exhibited regularly since 1984. His works of art may be found in public and private collections in manycountries. He is a nurse by profession and works on the Coronary Care Unit at St. Luke's Hospital, Malta.

Raymond Parascandolo read medicine at the University of Malta and the University of Leicester. He qualified in 1981 and completed his postgraduate training in paediatrics. He is presently Consultant Paediatrician at St. Luke's Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta.

Carol J Jaccarini graduated MD at the Royal University of Malta in 1961. He trained in paediatrics in the United Kingdom, qualifying DCH (1966), MRCP (1969) and FRCP (1985). He was consultant paediatrician at St. Luke's Hospital between 1975 and 1978.

Anthony Buttigieg graduated MD from the University of Malta in 1987 and subsequently obtained the Diploma in Sports Medicine in 1991. He has worked in Accident and Emergency Medicine since 1989 and in 1999 led a medical team to Albania during the Kosovo war.

David Sammut graduated MD from the University of Malta in 1995. He is currently working as Senior Registrar in Medicine at St. Luke's Hospital, Malta. He enjoys painting as a hobby and trained at the Malta School of Arts.
 

Mellieha Sanctuary

Dr. Camilleri [1901-1973] graduated from the University of Malta in 1925 and carried out posrtgraduate training in Naples. A member of the Surgical Team during World War II and a Consultant in Surgery at St. Luke's Hospital, he was actively involved in forensic medicine after the war.  He painted in oils, watercolours and pencil sketches for over 40 years.

Jacqui Pace Balzan qualified as a physiotherapist in 1989 and presently works as a physiotherapist at St.Luke's Hospital, Malta. She enjoys painting as a hobby and studies oil painting under Harry Alden.

Luzzu

Dr. Manche` was born on 24 December 1958, Malta and comes from a family of great artistic talent. After having studied Dentistry at the Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel, lived in London and settled down in Malta, he practices Dentistry and enjoys painting during his spare time. His style is entirely self-taught with an emphasis on detail.

Dr. Antonella Grima (born 1982) graduated MD from the University of Malta in 2004 and is doing house jobs at St. Lukew's Hospital. She is a self-taught artist.

The Philospher

Maria Rossella Dalmas, a community pharmacist by profession, is a self-taught artist preferring the acrylic medium. She has exhibited her works in a number of exhibitions in Malta and overseas, and has had successful entries in a number of competitions.

Carol Gober qualified as a podologist in 1989 and works at the Diabetes Foot Clinic at St Luke's Hospital, Gwardamangia. She studies art with Anton Agius and Matthew Cassar. Her favourite medium is watercolours as the sensation of movement can be implied with the soft tones.
 

The Little Rebel

Dr. Kathleen Gatt graduated in Medicine from the University of Malta in 1984. She has a special interest in the management of Diabetes Mellitus, working at Diabetes Clinics at St. Luke’s Hospital and the peripheral health centres. Her preferred medium in painting is watercolours.

Celia Borg Cardona studied at the University of Malta in 1977 and studied art at the Malta School of Art from 1992 to 1995. Minted in 1976, to commemorate the tercentenary anniversary of the founding of the School of Anatomy and Surgeru. The obverse, as depicted, has recently been adopted as the seal of the University of Malta Medical School. The reverse depicts the coat-of-arms of the University of Malta and the inscription ATHENAEUM MELITENSE - MCMLXXVI.
